Woodland in Ballymacool Town Park At the upper end of Ballymacool Town Park you will discover a beautiful native woodland which a huge variety of trees and plants The woodland is reached by entering from the town park paths; there are various pathways once within the woods – a fantastic playground for young and old!

Grass Roof on Town Council Building The town council offices are known locally as ‘The Grasshouse’ or ‘The Grasshoose’ or ‘The Grass-Roof’ and were designed by Donegal-based Antoin MacGabhann Architects Grass or ‘green’ roofs are a contributor to greater biodiversity.  Although plants are the most visible species on green roofs, they also house insects and invertebrates.

In the meantime there are various areas where the grass is not being cut to promote natural wildflower growth. The aim is to develop this wildflower meadow in Sentry Hill over a 3-5 year period.
